J Channell is a guitarist and vocalist from Pittsburgh who blends inspiration from ‘90s riot grrrl bands like Lunachicks and Veruca Salt and lo-fi drum-machine-heavy acts like Colleen Green and Le Tigre into a unique fusion of punk rock, queercore, and disco.

After releasing several demos and singles since 2023, J Channell is releasing her debut album, Greetings from the Discard Pile, on September 1, 2026. Featuring both new material and re-recorded songs from her demos, the album reflects upon the struggles, pressures, and abuse she has faced as a transgender woman.

With a growing fan base stemming from her work with the band Lylyth, J Channell is an artist on the rise, bringing a hard rock edge to the Pittsburgh queer music scene.

The 11-track album will be available digitally on various platforms and physically on vinyl (pressed at Hellbender Vinyl in Pittsburgh), CD, and cassette.

A release show is set on September 4th,2026, at The Government Center in Pittsburgh with support from Sherry CD-ROM, V.V.itch, and Major Delilah. Tickets can be purchased for $10 in advance at Humantix.
